Little slices of London's history

All change (for the moment)

As ever, I start with an apology: it’s been way too long. And a proviso: this is a very quick post, and not street name related (apart from the photo – couldn’t resist that one).

I’ve been playing with the website layout: I realised that, things being the way they are just now, the Tom Lehrer story wasn’t the best one to have as a front page, so I’m bumping that down with this post.

There are other reasons for the change. My copyright date was last year, so I’ve updated that. The search engine didn’t work properly. And I got bored. Changing the design, which may not fix the search engine, but at least it’s different. I’ll probably be fiddling and tweaking for a while, which means that I should be back at the keyboard more regularly.

Thank you to those loyal readers who keep looking at my site even when I let you down by not posting for ages. I have to dash now to walk the dog but more in the (hopefully!) not too distant future.

    Best wishes, Pete.

About Me (and my Obsession)

My obsession with London street names began in the early 90s when I worked in the Smithfield area and happened upon Bleeding Heart Yard. In my wanderings around London, I kept adding to my store of weird and wonderful street names. Eventually it was time to share – hence my blog. I hope you enjoy these names as much as I do.
